The OSIPI Contrast Agent Perfusion MRI Lexicon (CAPLEX)

CAPLEX is a library of standardised (reference) definitions for quantities, models and analysis processes used in contrast-agent based perfusion MRI (DCE-MRI and DSC-MRI). The aim of CAPLEX is remove variability in how DCE-MRI and DSC-MRI is reported in journal articles or how these variables, models, or processes are defined in analysis software.

CAPLEX was created by Taskforce 4.2 of ISMRM-OSIPI and first published here in 2023. The definitions of each quantity, model, and process have been reviewed and endorsed by the perfusion study group of the ISMRM.

Contributing to CAPLEX

CAPLEX is open-source and designed to be extendable. If you disagree with the definition provided for a particular quantity, model, or process, please submit a change request which will be reviewed by OSIPI. Anyone can propose changes to CAPLEX by forking the CAPLEX Github repository: https://github.com/OSIPI/OSIPI_CAPLEX, then submitting a pull request. If you would like to contribute generally, please see the list of open Issues. Detailed instructions on how to contribute for those new to git and Github can be found in the "how to contribute" page and in the README.md.
